Bachelors & Kitchen Tea

Hey All!

Hope it is going well with everyone? Loving married life and taking things easy. We just got some pics of my kitchen tea and Stephaan's bachelors which I will put up.

I must say my kitchen tea was so much fun and please note the very cool pink furry stetson as a tribute to my new in-laws. I got some awesome gifts but had to chew a lot of bubblegum for them!

My super awesome gals!

And the very cool ladies!

Irma telling everyone the rules of the day, what fun!

As for Stephaan, well, I don't think he had quite as much fun at his bachelors. As you can see, he ended up completely red just a few days before an important flight so he was not very impressed. At least he can't call me the 'rooinek' of the family anymore!! Enjoy!

At the start, looking relaxed

So sexy in pink!

Bathing in the dam - he loved it!

So that was the build up to the wedding, the actual wedding pics are coming this week so keep checking in and I will update this as soon as I have them!!

Until then, take care of yourselves!

Lotsa Love

Engagement Shoot

Hi!

Sorry I haven't been blogging in ages but things have been really hectic this side! Between getting married, finding and moving into our new home and preparing for my new work, there has been little time for anything else.

So this is me catching up. In mid December Stephaan and I went for an engagement shoot just to get to know our photographers and get used to the camera, etc. It was a lot of fun and I think Stephaan is a real natural in front of the camera.

So here are a few of the pictures they took. Coming soon hopefully will be some photos of my kitchen tea and Stephaan's bachelors.

Take care!

Nikki

Back From Europe

Hi All!

It's always great to go away, especially to new countries and experience different cultures but it is always great to come back! Leilanie (my slightly crazy, always fun housemate) and I had a fantastic time in Austria, Germany and Switzerland visiting the various Christmas Markets. (or Weinacht Markte)

The craftsmanship and creativity displayed at these stalls was incredible and  of course the gluhwein was not half bad either!

And then, of course, there was the snow!! It was beautiful! A real winter wonderland everywhere we went, just like a picture from Narnia. We made snow angels, had snow fights and made a very quick and thus very wonky snowman and behaved like children in front of a sweet shop, giddy with excitement! (We don't get snow here in sunny SA!)

Our fellow tourists on the coach with us were amazing! We had such interesting discussions over dinner and learnt so much about other countries. I do believe a few preconceptions were broken all around, which is always a good thing!

So here we are, back home and full steam ahead for the wedding and family gatherings like never before, I can't wait!

Take care y'all!

First Post

So this is the first post of our new blog, yay!!

So technically I can't really post something in our Bouwer blog because I am not yet a Bouwer but that may give you an indication of just how awesomely welcoming this family has been to me! I already feel like a part of the family (other than the fact that I haven't met my father-in -law yet or my sisters- in law - except you Ash!)

I think me writing may also be testimony to just how excited I am to start my new life with my new hubby, but patience is a virtue so I will be patient!

Keep checking in for some updates on final wedding prep and the start of our new lives!

Much Love!

Nikki
